Angler is a Mac app that indexes the PowerPoint, Excel, Word, PDF, and Markdown files in any folder on your Mac, including folders synced from Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and iCloud. It breaks those files into the elements consulting work actually reuses: a chart on a slide, a named range in a model, a paragraph in a proposal, a page in a research report. You search in plain language, see ranked matches with previews, and reuse the real object instead of rebuilding it.

It is built for the work every engagement repeats — SOWs, decks and quals, Excel and light analysis, and requirements drawn from call transcripts and meeting notes.

Built for consultants and their agents

The same index is exposed to Claude, Cursor, and other assistants through Angler’s local MCP integration and CLI, so an agent works from the same client context the consultant does. The verified local surface includes kg_find, kg_get, kg_extract, kg_render, kg_compose, kg_documents, kg_entities, kg_intel, and kg_status. Angler is not a hosted document API.

Current availability

Angler is a free research preview for macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later on Apple Silicon (M1 or later). The download is signed and notarized by Apple. Mac visitors download directly from the website; other platforms can join the waitlist.
